My Brother and I: A Slo-Mo Saga

We cannot forget the injustice that is the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh.

My Irish (I’m 96% Irish by 23andme, indaverent ad any way, pure Irish so kiss me. I’m Irish.)

This is cutnpaste emails, and I say that to tell you that I did not alter the content in any way. That being said, this is an intellectual discussion between myself and my brother. Enjoy and be gentle in your responses, because we are being candid about ourselves. This is a semi-long-format back and forth about the Constitution and such, that seems kind of errant in plaeces, to me in retrospect.. Thanks for considering this.. follows:

OK, I thought it would be a good idea to segregate the emails, and when it works, it works, but we must show a little more discipline if we are to establish boundaries, can we agree on that? That being said, I transgressed and I am sorry. John I like the dialog. You'll not believe this but I listened to Dave Rubin for two hours today on Rogan. Ehhh, at least give me credit for listening haha. If you listen to him, Joe makes him out to be clueless about some of his notions regarding Libertarianism, but it is a lively and respectful conversation, so it was worth it as a good model for discussion. Joe is friends with him, JP, and even Ben Shapiro.

So I thought I'd try a call-and-response format for this one, since it is so long.

Although I do recall your fascist coworker accusing you of sexual harassment for saying to a woman “that’s a nice dress”, no, I don’t think that’s the problem, it’s a symptom.

- I don't recall that, we are to be mindful in the workplace, and we sometimes need to be reminded. The problem as I see it is that where the workplace was once the domain of men, women have since entered the space, and some men feel that the need for more decorum is an imposition on their sovereignty. They resent women in the workplace. Others simply use sex as power over women (think Weinstein, Lauer..) That's a problem, it's been a problem for a long time. That women can exploit the law (2-6% of reports turn up to be false or unwarranted) at times is certainly a symptom, but so is rape a symptom. So is infidelity.

The threat to the constitution, is what I see as the problem. The 4th, 5th and 6th amendments being ignored by the current lynch mob, specifically.

Amendment 4 - Protection from Unreasonable Searches and Seizures

Amendment 5 - Protection of Rights to Life, Liberty, and Property

Amendment 6 - Rights of Accused Persons in Criminal Cases

- Lynch mob.. I think that is a poor characterization, John, a loaded word. Unless you're talking about Loretta Lynch. Dave Rubin shares Jordan Peterson's fear about tyranny from the far left. Surely you are creating a straw man argument. Let me help you. Both JP and Dave Rubin bemoan the fact that "the weak prevail". JP said as much when he talked about how the Dominance Hierarchy has served us for a million years, as it evolved to be this thing that is. JP believes that the communist fervor of the 60's upset the prevailing hierarchy, e.g., a weak gay man / woman / anyone can get you fired, thereby exercising an unwarranted superiority over someone who "rightly" should be "on top". I think this angers men who think they should, by rights, be "on top." But the fact that a great injustice has been done to the women of our society is not speculative: statistically between 1 and 2 out of 3 women experience some sort of harassment in their lives. That makes it the problem, and it's a problem that only men can fix. And it doesn't require a re-write of the Bill of Rights to do it. Just teach boys to be empathetic to women. That's all. Know "NO."<-- just made it up, you can use it..

Initially I was speculating about the future of families, if the status quo exacerbates to the point where young men see woman as a threat to their existence and avoid monogamous relationships all together, I know my boys do.

- Women love men who respect them. Again, this isn't a problem women can solve. If men have fucked it up to the point where they can't trust women, then yeah, lump all women into a "can't be trusted" set and avoid them. That's good advice!

I’m a big fan of John Locke and his contention, beautifully modified by Thomas Jefferson as “A God given inalienable right to life, liberty and property; Jefferson’s “happiness.”

Equally for (wo) men.

God is so important, if only to distinguish who can take away that natural right; only God, no man can.

- Which is to say that no man can. I get it. God can totally fuck you up on a whim - send you and earthquake, ad flood, diabetes, you name it. Man should never have the power to do something as devastating, except through law.

Does the progressive “better world” maintain the bill of rights?

Do secular people believe they can alienate a person from those rights? There is no God, so man can do it.

The position clearly taken up by the detractors of Kavanaugh, in this case.

- So, here you need to be more concrete. What specific agent is the Left employing to strip anyone of their constitutional rights? I can't help you, because you clearly see some monster I do not.

How many “partners” have our boys had? Can they now be sued for civil rights violations, albeit many years ago?

1 is a threat, 100 is 100 threats.

Recently the Saudi’s were pleased as punch with themselves for allowing women to drive cars.

- This is a nonsensical statement. You do this all the time. "Things suck so hard elsewhere women should just stfu cuz they don't know how good they got it." Please, wear a hard-hat when you say that! haha to identity politics..

So many contradictions, there is no philosophy. How about this one I just made up. “Keep the borders open until we have democratically elected Sharia law!”

I’ll stop, guessing you’re thinking “I just don’t get it.” Which I’ll reply “You can’t explain it.”

I didn’t want to get involved with this case from the beginning. To me it distracted from the FBI, Page Stroyk, Hillary cabal which robbed from Bernie and undermined Trump. Hillary is a woman, they’re not all saints.

- I will never forgive the DNC for what they did to Bernie. Doesn't make me scared of women more, though.

I'd modify your definition of the problem as "people cross lines", regardless of gender.

- I can go along with that; and I would add, it is why we have laws and regs, and a judiciary that is even-tempered and more-or-less non-partisan. Kavanaugh is none of that. He lied about a dozen times in his "job interview". Sorry, I wouldn't hire a man who boasted he and three buddies consumed a hundred kegs. Don't think he should get the job, and I'm SURE he is a GOP political operative!

OMG another week of this.

- We didn't start the fire.. rumor has it its gonna burn through the weekend, into week 3.

P.S. Wouldn't mind publishing this in c99p haha, do you mind?
